to get into DOS mode and then ffun the Fdisk /fixmbr command.
The only drawback is that if it fails then you have potentially hosed your data. At that point I would leave it up to you to make the call.

You might also try looking on the internet for a utility called "magic disk" It is a bootable floppy program that resets the admin password if you have physical access to the box. If it fails you really haven't lost anything because it will already not let you log in. It is worth a shot :)
