Although the law might be a bit fuzzy on whether it's right to use someone's unguarded internet connection (and we've discussed that one in the past), the act of *changing* something on someone else's computer/network is a distinct no-no. Even if it helps.

Imagine what good a few well-intended computer geeks could do with one of Microsoft's products, if they only had the chance to sneak in and improve things. Much good could be made by such an act, but Microsoft would certainly frown upon the idea. ;)
