I truly enjoyed the concepts that Williams played out in his series, but he took *so* long to get through it all! And it *does* start pretty slow as well.


Minor SPOILERS ahead!



What I found particularly frustrating was that, by the third and fourth book of the series, he got to where he kept introducing new worlds and new situations, but none of them actually progressed the story along. They would go into, then eventually leave, a new world without actually having anything major happen that moved the story toward its conclusion. It was terribly redundant, but by the time you've read 1500 pages into the series, you don't feel like you can let it drop.
