No nation /wants/ its nationals to be tried in other courts. Norway sends plenty of requests for transfers to the US to have Norwegian citizens tried in Norwegian courts. Hicks is an Australian citizen who was captured in Afghanistan allegedly acting as an agent of the Taliban government. Fitzso has ranted for months about how Mr. Howard, PM of Australia, is a spineless dork for not putting pressure on the US to ship him to Australia.
