  Reminds me of a SF I once read by EnzoMatrix 2007-02-16 00:19:32
A series of 4 books, around 600 or 700 pages / book..

In dutch it's called 'Anderland'. I believe it translates to something like 'Otherworld'. It's semi cyberpunk, about a HUGE network, connected to the internet. VR is a common thing that time, though still pretty stylised. That particular network though, uses a technology so strong that it can show an entire realm (not unlike WoW) realtime, realistic as the real thing.

In the end they find out that there were half-sentient programs in the network, that eventually left by shooting themselves into outer-space through a sattelite dish.
