When accidents happen, it gets a nasty feeling... by LthrOttr 2007-01-25 22:33:11
I've dealt with a couple... one, a student, was fine till he went to pull his pilot chute... somehow rolled and did a toe-touch... the instructor couldn't get to him in time... AAD fired, there were injuries, but thankfully no deaths. Another, a hard open knocking the guy to semi=conscious... couldn't really control, and crashed into a Eucalyptus tree on the was down.

I can definitely appreciate some of the experiences, even more so after today... I know my hard pull scared the daylights out of me (I ended up finally pulling at around 2,700 feet... my pull altitude at the time was 4,000 feet). Today helped me understand some of the other things that can happen. But, I love this sport, and nothing is keeping me from going back.
