When the airport suggested marking the cabs they got negative feed back from the _customers_ who didn't want to feel like they were categorized as drinkers and non-drinkers if there are two different kind of cabs.

If the separation is done on religious grounds I think those customers should just shut up and live with it. Why religious? Because the freedom to exercise your religion. In other cases we might be faced with discrimination which is no good also. And of course we can ask which is more important, equal treatment of all customers or a religion?
