out somewhere. A guy at work restored his 2" audio master tapes (about 30 years old) by having them "baked" in a special oven. There's a guy in New Jersey that does audio tape restoration (and he's one of the few people left with all the right equipment to do this). I'm not sure if this procedure carries over to videotape, but all magnetic tapes should behave similarly. Unfortunately, he's in England right now on a training thing, and I can't ask him who the guy is.

So yeah, mag-tape recovery specialist.
