The rest of your argument is logical but I feel misguided. Politicians NEED more control over your life, power, so they can extract money from the various interest groups that they are protecting. As far as the "smoke everywhere and tons of trans fat in everything, I want to die" comment; that would be a populist stance that would go along with get government out of your pocket and your lives. This could be a quite effective campaign if coupled with a right to die stance. Also, see Roe v. Wade for your "right to life"
