That's pretty insane. Hawaii is 20ft, and it works out fine. 50ft is pretty extreme, and you're right - you know car exhaust fumes are bad for you too, debatable exactly how bad - but certainly bad for you. I'm all for stricter emissions controls as well. :p Hope the folks in your state sort out that distance to something reasonable, that is pushing the boundries of "over the line" legislation!
