same argument as yesterday comes to mind, if javascript could submit a form like that there's all kinds of nastyness that could be pulled off about the only ways I can think of to do something like that would be a full java app but that would require a security popup to get access to local files. That, or an ActiveX control, but that would rather limit the browser choice that the app would run in.
