Downtown airport? by jdelphiki 2007-01-25 08:46:24
That's kind of a cool place. I've never actually been there, but I've worked downtown several times over the years and have watched planes come in and out from there.

I used to work at Boeing in Wichita back when they were retrofitting the new Air Force One. I know it's just a 747, but it was fascinating hearing bits and pieces about the work that they had to do with it. Cooler, still, to see them test-flying it to break in the new engines, but before they'd actually painted it. (Still had the green surface protectant on it).

BTW, do you, perhaps, work at the advertising/marketing company that's located there at the airport? I can't recall the name, but I had a couple of phone interviews for that place last year and later on, I heard that one of my buddies went to work for them as a contractor.
