So I'd better give the answer and let someone else post a new question. :) This Rockford is the main character in the old Boulder Dash series of games from the 80s, made by First Star. You clear levels by collecting diamonds while avoid being crushed by falling boulders. A simple, but very entertaining cross between puzzle and arcade game. =) If you haven't played them, I can highly recommend that you download them and fire up your favorite 8-bit emulator (I personally like the earliest games in the series best, Commodore 64 versions).
