almost nothing is universally "work safe" - and I am not quite happy with the idea that the most oppressive forces in the world are given leave to make the rules.
To be civil is a good idea, but that must also include the need to understand that your own idea of "civil" is probably not universally accepted. This may be a theoretical problem, since nothing I have ever seen here would be objectionable to any sane person. On the other hand, I have seen postings stomped upon, and THAT is extremely objectionable to most people I know. Chastising people who violate the norms of a community is right. Cencorship, under any guise, is an unforgiveable transgression against fundamental human rights. It is, to be blunt, pure evil no matter how righteous the censor feels and how nasty everybody agree the victim is. |
