I can absolutely sign your statement.
How can I know if something I post could be illegal in some obscure country one anonymous UF reader comes from? Sure, it should be possible to have a common sense library of what's illegal in most countries (like Warez sites or Child porn - I know, a bit hard references, but you get the point), but at least some things are certainly very different in countries.
For example these SOTM threads which are very common at the moment - in some countries publishing of song lyrics is illegal! IIRC Germany is one of them (exclusion of this law is only applicable for citing parts of lyrics, but not for publishing the whole one). It's a dumb law made for earning money by attorneys who can't make a living with real cases, but well... it is illegal - if I'm right. But I'm not a lawyer... |
