I've mentioned this before, but in a group of friends I have are:
1. The woman with (her words) "the gay-est husband ever."
2. A very 'non-stereotypical' gay man. (Not 'flamboyant' or effeminate at all.)
The two are best friends. The woman (and her husband,) are Buddhist, and were married in a Buddhist ceremony. (Much to the consternation of the husband's very Catholic parents.) At the ceremony, they had their attendants reversed. SHE had a 'best man', and HE had a 'maid of honor' (although they had different titles.) Of course, her best friend was her attendant.
At their ceremony, her father was not present, so her attendant walked her down the aisle. If it hadn't been for the train on her dress, I would have sworn I was there for a gay 'commitment' ceremony between the gay man attendant (who I knew was gay,) and the effeminate man at the altar. |
