Or plain text if it's something really simple and I don't care how it looks. LaTeX just produces pretty output with very little effort.

If I want something with a bit of formatting but I'm feeling really lazy (maybe I just want to print a sign for my door or something) then I use MS Word. Sure, openoffice is free and implements most of the features, but I've got a site license...
