That's what I meant. In laboratory experiments, the goal is to demonstrate that evolution can produce a particular trait. The selection pressure is artificial. It is (a bit) less clear that natural selection pressures could produce the results which we see.

However, the idea that we were intelligently designed (that not being the only alternative - we could have been stupidly designed) is undermined by certain things like vestigial traits and the fact that mammals' retinas are installed backwards.
