we (people, society, not just you and me) define "god" to mean something, but even that meaning has changed over the past few thousand years. Odds are, in a couple thousand more, it'll probably mean something different to what it does now.
Your definition of God would seem to be in line with the Christian model, but if we look at other cultures (Romans, Greek), they defined it quite differently, and there was a definite seperation of powers, despite the Pantheon still being defined as God/s.
It'd be interesting how those in 3000 or 4000 AD define "God" and "Gods".
