Testability means that it *could* be proven false. It doesn't matter whether the tests are feasible yet, only that they could occur.
Newton's laws are testable: if an object were to accelerate at a rate different than force divided by mass, then that particular law would be proven false.
Relativity makes testable predictions, that have been tested. Quantum theory makes testable predictions, that have been tested. (Oh, and evolutionary theory makes testable predictions, that have all proven accurate...)
Religion makes no testable predictions. There is no imaginable way to prove that a god doesn't exist. And that's why it's not considered science. |
