existence of god. You're talking about proving the existence of some creatures that may or may not have interfered with us a couple of thousand years ago. Which has nothing to do with the existence or otherwise of god. Supposing you did prove their existence, would you worship them as god, merely because they're advanced? Or is the god you're really talking about proving the existence or otherwise of the omnipotent outside-time-and-space variety, and space aliens just a convenient substitution when you want something actually disprovable?
