If a god ever DOES drop out of the machine, that's one thing. If it's possible, it will happen.
If there are no gods, you will NEVER prove there aren't. All you can do is show all the places they are not, and you can NEVER get to the end of 'all the places' because the last place is the the gods made to hide from the last experiment you ran.
(Personally I reckon imaging techniques will get good enough to spot religious experiences happening as neurochemical exchanges int he brain. Not that that will prove anything :-D ) |
