As they are still pups, give them a little help for a time.
Get a block of styrofoam and cut a hollow in it to hold the water bowl.
Put it somewhere out of the wind, fill it with water at room temperature or a little warmer, and the dogs will at least have something to drink before it freezes.
Over time, refill the bowl with colder water and less of it, so they learn to find their own way of living off the land.
A necessary compromise; you don't want them to get dehydrated, and you don't want them to get soft and incapable of surviving outside either. |
