Well, that and *lots and lots* of people that say "ooooh, new shiny!" and buy/install it without even thinking. Mostly so they can have bragging rights: "I got Vista before you did!"-type thinking.

You know no vendor is going to accept refunds for Vista, either (it's software, after all). So when these people find out exactly what WMP11 does to their music, even if they do realize how it happened and what they'd have to do to fix the problem (revert to XP or earlier), they won't show up as lost Vista sales on MS's earnings reports.

Sigh... if only they had a clue.

(That's why I'm trying to point a lot of people at articles like this, especially the people that I know will try to run out and buy Vista as soon as possible. Unfortunately I doubt I'll make much of a dent...)
