... all of the output is controlled by Vista and it's custom DRM'd drivers, so if you don't have a fully DRM'd system - that's HDCP-enabled audio card and speakers - it *will* degrade your output, no matter what you're using to play it with. It's all for the betterment of user experience, you see. And you can just bow down to our new content overlords.
Seriously, it's very, very ugly, and it's a very, very dangerous path they're taking. I just hope people are aware of what they're getting into with Vista, and that MS feels deep down their pockets the backlash of this. |
