"In Baker Lake, Rankin Inlet, Chesterfield Inlet, and Arviat, northwest winds of 20 to 30 km/h and temperatures approaching minus 40 will continue to give extreme wind chills of minus 55 to minus 59 tonight. These wind chills will ease towards morning as the winds subside.

At extreme wind chill values frostbite on exposed skin may occur in less than 2 minutes.

Extreme wind chills are a hazard to your health. Exposure without adequate protective clothing will quickly lead to frostbite and or hypothermia. Longer exposures may be fatal."
