Pearl Harbor was not US soil? Strange.
I'm not sure what the beginnings of Korea or Beirut was, but I know that Desert Storm was a voluntary effort by the US. And I somehow feel certain that if no US troops were sent to Korea or Beirut, there would not have been an army invading the US as a result. In short, there was no immediate threat to most US citizens staying home, going about their lives normally. That lack of threat spells 'peace' to me.
Of course, if you want to include the 'war on drugs' and the 'war on crime' etc. as qualifying for non-peace conditions, then we are talking two different things. |
