considering I have seen this movie "several" times. Michael Myers didn't kill his mother. He killed his older sister after she had sex with her boyfriend. He then went downstairs , and walked outside where his parents drove up, and found him holding a bloody knife. Then, he spent the entirety of his childhood in a asylum, escaped, and went on a killing spree trying to kill off his younger sister. Where the parents are at this time, I guess they have died at some point?
Anyhow, while the only similarity is that this guy in Florida was an obvious psycho... It wasn't even revealed about his earlier murders of his mother, and attempted murder of his father until the murders of his wife, and niece. So, how can a movie in 1978 be based on something that wasn't even revealed until 2004? Just a thought.
