USA has been enjoying peace for more than sixty years. No nation has dared attack since Pearl Harbor. And the end of the Cold War removed a major threat. Nowadays, you really have to work hard to scare up a credible threat.

Same for most countries in Europe. Peace has allowed prosperity to grow for the EU countries. And (although I don't follow Australian politics that closely) I believe Australia hasn't had a credible threat for quite a while either. Must this prosperity end?
