dishonesty. And likely desperate. $1,236,700 was missing - but only $186,500 was known to have been transferred to the scammers. As well as at least $72,500 of his own money. My guess is that he had been embezzling, and was desperately looking for a way to recover the missing funds. I guess desperation impairs your judgment. At least it did for him.
