You cna get away with the blender or a mixer/beater. You cna get away with adding about any kinds of liquids you like, but you must take into account the quantity of those liquid.
You just used too much of the wet stuff. Add it in small quantities as you whirl the potatoes.
(A hand mixer is usually more effective than a blender, and probably easier to clean since all you really need to wash is the beaters and wipe down the housing of the mixer if any spatters hit it.)
Potato slush like you made still tastes OK, and can be used for other things. Add an egg, maybe a minced onion or some garlic, any spices you like, and enough flour to make a slightly sticky dough, and fry your potato pancakes in a little oil. Kartoffel Pfannkuchen, yummies. |
