...do not make a right. There are all-wheel-drive cars aplenty, including everything from Subaru. And many of them get in excess of 25mpg, some more than 30. If you don't haul or tow things often, these would probably be a better choice for most than a large SUV. Getting thru the snow != gas-guzzling SUV
