Why can't people learn to use unicode?! by Khaar 2007-01-22 02:01:50
Most of us have learned the hard way what problems various code pages can create. Yet others simply refuse to take good advice to use unicode and then ask around for a solution still refusing to acknowledge that using some odd country-specific code likely a different one for various segments of the applications might not have been the brightest idea.

Why is it that so many programmers refuse to trust a more experienced person? Anything related to computers has exploded so quickly and massively that no single individual can master completely any significantly large fraction of it.

Oh, never mind. Long time ago I've drawn a line to negotiating with people with egos larger than a house, and from my experience those of developers average to the size of a medium-sized dwarf planet, so I won't bother. I'll just say what I have to and then duck the fireworks when what little I can help with is ignored.
