But then, I don't believe that I have an inherent right to kill anyone else, either.
I believe that wanting to commit violence on a fellow human being is an aberration - a very rare one, unless special circumstances apply. Ensure those circumstances don't arise, and remove those few aberrant humans that wish to harm their fellow man, and the problem is gone - it is no more serious than risking a strike of lightning. And I don't see too many people walking around with a lightning rod on their head 'just in case'.
