My collection started on floppy disks. Once it got too much to lug around, and as soon as CD-RW's were available, I bought one.
(Cost an arm, leg, and my First Born's left [FPB!], but it was worth it just to take all ?,000 floppy disks & transfer them to CD's.)
Let me see, that stack of boxes full of FD's, or these *six* CD's with everything those FD's have on 'em? HUMMMmmmmm choices choices...
I kept maybe two boxes of the disks (after burning their contents to CD), but the rest of them went to my friends as gifts.
"Hey, you need any FD's? Cool, here's 100 - Merry Christmas!"
But it's June...
"So? Fine. Happy Birthday!"
My birthday isn't until October...
"TAKE THE *&^% DISKS!"
