but I thought that it was just prisoners that weren't able to vote. Once they were released, they could vote again. However, convicted felons were never allowed to buy a gun again.

On further examination this seems to be an issue decided by each state individually - I presume state laws then govern who is eligible to vote in a Federal election as well?

If voting is a constitutionally guaranteed right, and bearing arms is a human right, which is more important? Or is the right to bear arms simply another, very important, constitutionally guaranteed right?

Finally, your last paragraph is very suspect, IMO. I seem to recall many times where you denigrate people here because they did not wish to arm themselves. The word you used for them was, I believe, victim? Or words to that effect?
