Farmers are still able to get guns to use on their properties for killing animals if needed, and so on. There are strict laws on how your guns are to be kept, though. You can't leave them just lying around. They have to be kept in a secure case, which is then attached to a building, generally your house. Or it must be kept in a 150kg safe.
