Yes, if the DNA profiling is wrongly to be considered 100% accurate and perfect then it will lead to wrong conclusions. But if it's possibilites and limits are viewed realistically and the investigators are aware of them, then i think false positives can be avoided (at least to the extent they are now). Especially if it is used as the last possibilit in unsolved cases (for wich is was proposed) instead as the first one.
