London Stock Exchange Chooses Server 2003 by ValenceParadigm2006-12-13 10:03:53
  The big problem with OSS for us, still, by Jeff_UK2006-12-13 10:22:35

In there here and the now, I'd have to agree.

But what about when "it just works" turns into "it just doesn't"? You have to admit, that happens more than any of us would like to admit OSS or not.

I personally don't care what OS is on my servers. I put on there what the uneducated tell me to - after all - they're buying.

The other thing about "just works " that creeps me out is; in the eyes of an accountant, if the system is working: You're not.

It's tough knowing that your job can be packaged in shrink-wrap with a spiffy-new desktop for 1/2 of what you get paid.

Where are the engineers out there? I need a proof for:

Time = money
less techs --> less time
less techs --> more money
less time --> more money
more licenses --> less techs
more licenses --> less money
