cook, do so cook at a lower heat. That way you will not scorch everything. Bacon cooks well at a surprisingly low heat level. I normally do not turn up my stove over half heat when I cook bacon. Eggs are the same way.

You also want to add a small amount of oil to the pan before cooking them to make sure they do not stick and cook correctly. I use both vegitable or olive oil to cook with. olive oil reaches it's smoke point at a lower temp than vegitable oil. You should use vegitable oil for higher temp cooking.
