User couldn't login. Went through the usual, caps lock off, account unlocked etc. I was watching his PC over VNC whilst on the phone to him, i heard 9 keypresses over the phone but only 8 dots appeared in the password.. "Is num lock on?" "...tap aah! that will be why then won't it?" "Yup" Now that we enforce alphanumeric passwords, I must remember to get them to check BOTH locks are set properly (I don't deal with users very often but it's hard to tell an MD to call the helpdesk because I'm busy :) )
