Has the technical data of nearly every digital camera on the market.

As suggested by other posters here, Canon is quite good. I had a G5 for my last holiday (which should be the same destination as yours now, NZ?). I found employing UV and polarising filters quite useful there for landscape shots (high UV in the sunlight). Also the video function was quite nice (for filming quarreling kea parrots)
