Nicknames. by karl-henrik 2006-12-13 04:44:10
I have a question that I can't answer myself so I'm hoping to get
some help from the rest of you, it's a simple but yet a very
hard question.

Why do we use nicknames on the internet?

First I used it because I thought anonymity was good but I
changed my opinion years ago if I work hard to create code or
help someone in a forum should he not then know my name? Still I
might be wrong maybe anonymity is good? I have a thousand reasons
not to print my name on the internet and I have yet another
thousand reason to do so.

What are the dangers? Identity theft? If so how could they do
that from knowing my name and what are the dangers? I keep
repeating this question but I keep getting the same sliding
answers.

Best wishes
Karl-Henrik
