The swiss... by Ascag 2006-12-13 00:16:16
Our beloved neighbours to the south:

Good: Chocolate. Pocket Knifes. Stunning landscape. Stable currency. A lot of former unemployed germans found well-paid work there.

Remarkable: The language. It's a kind of german, but you can say it's a separate language. I come from the south of germany, where the dialect is similiar, and I *really* have problems to understand people in Zürich.

Also remarkable: The correctness, tidyness and compulsion to abide the law goes to such an extend that Germany looks like a rebellious and anarchistic pit in comparison.

Bad: When you stroll around Zürich Lake on a sunny summer afternoon, you encounter a lot of strange people, wearing dark sunglasses and expensive suits, protected by two bodyguards. And you know immediately that they are here for a visit to do some 'special' financial transactions. Nuff said.

Else: Read 'Asterix in Helvetia'. Urgently if you have not yet.
