What did the article teach you? I found it didn't contain that much info about SC's in general.

The theory has some merit, but there are some things at speak against it:
- Cancer isn't neccesarily a different tissue than the surrounding one. It's part of that tissue that decided to run amok. So you don't need stem cells to create it.
- There are way fewer stem cells then other cells, so the chances probably get evened out again.
- There are lot's of bits that are responsible for the regulation of growth in cells. There are also a lot of mutations that collect over a live time. So the small odds happen sooner or later.
