Why are Aussies so against nuclear power? by shminux2006-11-20 21:46:41
For some, it goes something like this: by fudje 2006-11-20 22:08:25
We have Uranium. We have a lot of Uranium. We have Uranium like North America has shale oil. In fact, we have more than that.
There are places in Australia where white man was told not to touch the water. In fact, stay away from there. Why? Well, if you think that eerie light is a reflection of the moonlight, go there once, just once, on a moonless night. You will never go there again. It's haunted, brother.
The fish glow. The water glows. No, it's not luminescent algae. Algae won't grow there, it's dead. Come to think of it, so are most of the fish. They sort of floated there. Not even crocodiles can live in that for long.
Those places have been like that for tens of thousands of years. When the mining started, they got worse. Partly because of the acid, but mostly because there's so much disturbed Uranium now.
We seen what it can do.
We know it's bad.
Don't touch it, brother.
