I've been in and out of this thread very haphazardly all day thanks to my night-shift sleep schedule. I'm certainly starting to wonder, though.
If this was all a "satirical" poke at the new Democratic leadership, it wasn't a particularly adept one, seeing as Rangel seems to be the only Democrat seriously in favor of this proposal anyhow.
And honestly, I just wouldn't get the point. Just because the Democrats now finally have some measure of power doesn't mean the people who voted for them are going to agree with everything they say. That really should go without saying, but I guess some people assume that if a set of people weren't sheeplike slaves to one party, they obviously must be sheeplike slaves to the other. Odd, and sad. |
