We can't even look at Vietnam as a case study, because the media (esp movies and video games) have created a generation of kids FAR more desensitized to violence than they were in the 60's.

That's not to say you're wrong at all. Only that it's one of those situations where both sides have evidence they're right, and the only way to find out who is right is to actually test it. And not everyone thinks "it could happen" is a good enough reason NOT to do it.
