Senior Democrat Calls for Reinstatemment of Draft by DesertRat662006-11-20 08:03:58
Let me tell you why I think it's bad: by fitzso 2006-11-20 11:22:47
You tear young men away from everything they have built up in their lives - homes, families, careers - and brand them as cowards if they refuse to go.

Then you teach them to kill, ship them halfway across the world into a war they may or may not believe in.

How are these men prepared for this mentally? They're NOT!

Look at the Vietnam vets. A lot of them were drafted, and a lot of them came back different - they came back with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. One of our REGULARS got himself a VC over there, and he was so much of a mess that he would go berserk if the toilet paper wasn't on the holder the right way. And that's a REGULAR, not a Draftee.

If that Dem had two brain cells to rub together, he'd scrap this idea.
