With females serving in capacities that they were barred from until recently, the armed forces has had to lower standards for several categories, most of them strength related. The 2-man stretcher carry, is now the 4 person stretcher carry, the weight of gear for a force march has been reduced with trucks taking the difference. Women are currently rotated out of field positions every 3-5 days for sanitary reasons. Whether the job is at the front lines on the ground, or in a battle situation at sea, very often brute force is the only viable answer. Lives of more than one person are involved in all of those situations. I would support women in combat roles as soon as those standards are addressed. To counter the obvious argument; While there will always be some men who cannot meet those standards, they are addressed on an individual basis and there are no lawsuits or press about it. The man just didn't meet the standard, in general, society can't seem to apply that rationale when women are involved. There will be some women who can meet these standards, but a larger percentage of that population will not be able to meet those same standards.
